About Us
Frog’s began as a weekend hobby of Mel Dollarhide. At car shows, Mel used his artistic ability of custom pinstriping as a way to earn additional income. Those extra funds supported his hobby of building Harley Davidson choppers and later hot rod cars.
We frequently hear “where did the name Frog come from?” The answer is simple. It is a nickname given to Mel early on and it stuck!
In 1987, Doug, Mel’s son joined on and Frog’s evolved from a weekend hobby to a brick and mortar business. The two worked side by side for over 25 years when Mel retired. Today, Frog Signs remains a family business owned and operated by Doug.

Doug took Frog Signs to new heights after taking over from his Dad. A second generation artist, Doug handles the business operations as well as much of the artwork. He’s a lifelong resident of Springfield Missouri and continues to uphold the value and quality of Frog’s Detailed Specialties.
Brandon Ward, Manager
Brandon is Frog Signs installation expert. A SW Missouri native, he graduated from Nixa, MO in 2003 and went on to receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications & Marketing from Missouri State. He has been with Frog Signs since 2011 and continues to be a valuable asset and manager.
